Yesterday I had the privilege of being invited as a guest artist to do some linocut printing with a historical steam roller at a local steam engine festival that took part in our town. This was an entirely new medium for me to work with and, without knowing any of the tricks of the trade, it was DIFFICULT to say the least-- I have a new found respect for linocut artists! I used a pattern actually featured in my henna designs for clients, slightly adapted to work with this medium. Very simple image but considering how hard I found it to carve into the printing plate the simplicity was absolutely for the best! Much love and light to all the other henna artisans!
