Yesterday I had three different conversations that started with... Dont even think about talking me into that Obamacare insurance. So again... I think it is time for education and perspective. I found some old insurance claims from my grandfathers 2 month stay at Buford General Hospital in the early 1970s. His policy had like a $500 deductible and the total cost of the claims were somewhere around $4000. Ignoring the current huge increase in medical cost, I am just looking at the type of health insurance policies. He had a deductible to pay... and that was it. Back then just about everything was done in the hospital... and his policy probably just covered in-patient stuff. These days most procedures are done out-patient. The Federal Government has implemented changes to how insurance is paid and claims are covered started way way way back... way before Obama. This is why we now have copays and prescription coverage. As of 2014... what we know as Obamacare is simply a huge book with tons of regulations and requirements... mostly of which so far has affected the insurance companies. They are required to cover 100% on your checkups and things like colonoscopy if coded preventative. They also cant exclude you or upcharge you for having a bad medical history. These changes affect EVERY true health insurance policy purchased with an effective date of January 1, 2014 or thereafter. Yes... this means ALL the new Humana, Coventry, BCBS of GA, Aetna, United Healthcare, Alliant, Kaiser policies. ALL of them. This is all that can get, but that is not necessarily bad. The ONLY way stay away from Obamacare is to go without insurance (meaning you could lose assets with one illness). Think you found a policy that is not Obamacare? Oh yes... there are several modified plans floating around that have HUGE gaps in coverage and have fine print that verifies you really dont have insurance... but are being charged like you do. If they were real insurance, they would be required to follow the new laws. Why do agents sell them??? They pay on average 10 times the commission. :-) Lastly... I am a Christian 100%! (As if you didnt already know.) We respect the philosophy of the Christian brotherhood type programs that offer to join you in taking the risk to pay your claims. I easily would give you the phone numbers to new clients who have called me after the fact only to realize those programs are not dependable nor are they financially guaranteeing you anything. You could still lose your home! Fire off any questions you may have. Hope this helps!!!!
