Yesterday I had written, how Reliance and the Governments can fool the public, by getting the collusive decrees from the judicial authorities like SC or Arbitration Tribunals etc. To understand my point just read carefully this old tribune news of 23rd October 2013, to know how industrial groups like Reliance, collude with the Governments, to take the courts for a ride, or make courts a part of their game plan of collusive decrees. NHAI allotted 291KM six lane highway project from Panipat to Jalandhar to Soma Enterprises Ltd, a company owned by a top political family of Andhra, at Rs 4500 Crores. Surprisingly Government allowed SOMA, to start collecting Toll Tax at three toll plazas across 291KM highway, even before SOMA spent a single penny. Hold your breath, SOMA has not completed even one KM of the highway, anywhere, but has been collecting Toll Tax @ Rs 304 crores every year since May 2009. It means since five years it has collected more than Rs 1500 crores, without completing even a single KM of the stretch. NHAI approached, Pb and Haryana High Court, which took many years to cancel the contract. Now SC has granted stay against the orders of the High Court and asked the company to complete the project. NHAI has objected to it. So it will take some more years for the SC to decide the matter. Till then SOMA will keep collecting the Toll Tax, without doing any work, due to the court stay and keep minting money from the public. We idiots keep on paying the toll tax for the non existent six lane highway. Drive from Chandigarh to Panipat or to Jalandhar and see for yourself, how the whole highway has been ruined by SOMA. I wonder why the SC or NHAI has not stayed the collection of Toll Tax till the completion of the project. Thats called COLLUSION with the Government or taking the courts for a ride. Top of it, besides collecting Toll Tax to the tune of Rs 1500 crores, SOMA has taken bank loans to the tune of Rs 5000 crores and defaulted. Now tell me, cant, in the same way Reliance, the Government and the courts, collude to favour Reliance, in increasing the Gas Prices and loot the country? I feel its already happening.
