Yesterday, I put up a post encouraging people to steer clear of gluten-free processed foods UNLESS they have Celiac Disease or have a Gluten Intolerance. Some people got very angry at me for that post. I was told I was ignorant and ill-informed. The point of my post was NOT TO say that those with gluten-issues are not relevant or serious, but rather to help those without gluten issues to understand that PROCESSED (boxed, canned) gluten free items often contain considerable other harmful ingredients in higher amounts. Today, trainer Heidi Powell, wife to Chris Powell from the show Extreme Weight Loss basically reiterated all the points I had made yesterday in my post. She writes.... When it comes to eating gluten-free foods, beware!! Following the craze and demand, a lot of food manufacturers have been quick to jump on the gluten free bandwagon and often replace the gluten in their products with more fat, sugar, sodium, and/or calories, as well as highly refined fillers that can affect your blood sugar and increase cravings. Not good at all! The number one thing I try to teach people on this page, (besides the fact that fitness can be a life changer, especially for those experiencing stress) is that: NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON HAS THE SAME BODY OR REACTS THE SAME WAY TO ALL THINGS. LEARN YOUR OWN BODY. Live 80/20 and make the most out of each day. You can read Heidis points here.... heidipowell.net/9283/
