Yesterday I read something that made me very disturbed. Actually, I was disturbed that that when I went to my local bar to answer the register, I sat alone in the tall seats. I got in a reflective mood as I wondered my next move. May be you can help me. Let me ask you, if you forgot your phone at home then on coming back you meet seven missed calls from your Dad, two from your mum, Five from your boss, seven from you wife and five from your ex, which one would you call back first. Let’s ask ourselves why they were calling you. Your Dad: Most likely he is telling you that the immediate neighbor is selling his shamba and you should buy, or his medicine is finished. The other likely reason is to tell you he is coming to your town and would like you meet a former classmate of his in 1970’s so that you know each other. Your mum : She is probably telling you about her medicine which is finished or telling you to go collect some milk, live chicken, arrowroots and half sack of potatoes which she brought your wife. She is alo likely to be calling you since she is in town with the chama mothers and since she wants to boast to them she calls you to come greet them. If she is still in the village she may be updating you about the weather there, who is born sick or about to die in the village. They will also tell you the cow have calved down and the shamba boy ran away eloping with the neighbor’s daughter. Finally she will tell you that she is praying for you and your family, for rains to come, for security in Kenya, for those travelling over Christmas, world peace and things like those. Your Boss: Assuming you are a good worker who submits reports within deadlines then your boss will be calling to give give more work and directions… don’t worry about him he will give the work to someone else who will pick his phone. Don’t even call back. Your wife Seven missed calls from your wife is a sign of end times where there will be storms and earthquakes that will be experienced later that evening in all the regions of your body i.e the rift valley, central, lake, coast and the north eastern. The first call will have been to tell you that pamper are finished and water and electricity bills are due; the second one is to tell you that not to forget pampers water and electricity. The third one is to ask you if you are still remembering pampers water and electricity. The fourth is to ask you whether you had your lunch and what time you will be home and if you are still remembering pampers water and electricity. Fifth call is to ask you whether you have passed by the supermarket to buy pampers and if you withdrew money for water and electricity. Sixth call was to ask you if you are still remembering pamper water and electricity. The seventh call is to tell you that she loves you and misses you and not to forget pampers water and electricity. Your EX I don’t know why your ex would be calling you…. But naturally you would be very curious. You can only tell me why she/he was calling you. So tell me of all these who would you call back first. I could probably send a ”please call me thank you” message to all of them expect my boss and whoever calls me first wins the bet.
