Yesterday I received two disturbing, anonymous phone calls. - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I received two disturbing, anonymous phone calls. Disturbing because they were on my home number which, while not too difficult to find, would take a little effort. I was told that I am “cop bashing” and that I am unappreciative of the work being done by “volunteer organisations such as the CPF”. I was called a “trouble stirrer”, told that I was “nothing but a cheap ripoff of the Edenvale News” (really?!), and that I should rather focus my energy on “doing something positive”. I debated about making this public, but eventually decided that I would. I’m not going to defend any of the accusations, anyone who has been following this page will know that they’re unfounded. I just want to reiterate that I am a private person with no affiliation to any organization, public or private. My motives for this page are absolutely transparent, to bring the community together to support local business and local charities and, if there are problems within the community to be addressed, to encourage people to use the right channels to address them. I fully support the work being done by our police force, and especially by the CPF, however, the community needs to get behind these efforts. We cannot sit back and complain about crime and corruption if we are not prepared to hold people accountable, and that includes ourselves. Sometimes this is difficult. Those of you who are in contact with me behind the scenes know that I will do anything I can to be of assistance. That is all. Have a good Tuesday.
