Yesterday I spoke about how the journey to freedom for a Greek stray is filled with many challenges. Meet Asi, who in 2013 had one of the most dramatic journeys to the UK. Originally scheduled to come over by transport in the middle of 2013, Asi escaped the transport van just outside Athens and disappeared. For 3 days as Stavroula searched high and low we held our breath hoping for the best but preparing for the worse. And then word came through, Asi had been found! The late Vesna Jones, who founded the UK based charity Greek Animal Rescue and who sadly passed away this year, told me Asi was the first escapee recovery she had heard of in 25 years! Stavroula had performed another miracle yet again! :-) Finally arriving in Sep 2013, the bottom left photo captures that magic moment when Asi met her new mum. After all the drama, Asi is now living in doggie luxury with the lovely Cath and family in Glasgow and has no wish to escape from her fantastic new life :-)
