Yesterday I visited Clara Cemetery, Wichita County, west of Burkburnett, TX. on SH 240. The cemetery and Lutheran church are all that remain of the ghost town. I am not a great photographer but I thought I would share the story the cemetery told me. German immigrant, Herman Specht named the town after his wife, Clara Vogel Lange. The early stones reflect the life of those who resided here in the late 1800s and early 1900s through the wheat production, experimental nursery and oil boom.
