Yesterday I was eating dinner on the beach. A bunch of high school girls walked past with pizzas and dropped a bunch of trash by me. One of them said to her friends, I will get it after we eat. And they kept walking. As they walked away I kindly hollered, Excuse me, please PICK that up. They kept walking away but I knew they heard me. I sat up and said it louder and louder until they turned around. The one who dropped everything looked back at me, embarrassed. She traversed on the walk-of-shame to pick up the trash she left on the beach. I told her thanks and that it didnt make sense that she wanted to go eat dinner at the beach because its beautiful- yet she was okay with leaving a bunch of trash in the very same place. I was very kind to her but it did upset me a bit. I mean, these are the people who will inherit the planet. MORAL OF THE STORY- cmon yall this is the only earth. That stuff washes up in the oceans and animals eat it and it clumps up in miles of garage in the ocean and sits along parks and sidewalks and it all adds up slowly.... We dont throw trash in our homes. We dont dump garbage in our bed or shower. Lets throw our crap away and uses our voices to respectfully ask others to pick their trash up if we see them litter. The ONLY thing we have are our VOICES. We gotta use them :)
