Yesterday I was having a little pity party and thinking Well I - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I was having a little pity party and thinking Well I play a mean second fiddle. Then this morning I did not make it to church but this sermon was on tv. God found a way to reach me. I normally pride myself on being second fiddle. I like to make other people or animals look good. I dont need the credit or the spot light but I enjoy watching it from the back ground. God made me feel good about that. It is ok to take pride in playing second fiddle. I love when he talks about people that lift others up. It is wonderful when those are people at the helm of a project. I have seen many of those in my life time. Fred Smith was one. My current director is one. I have seen people at the helm feel threatened by a good second fiddle player. I imagine they might think second fiddle is gunning for first fiddle instead of rejoicing in that other player making them sound so good. True greatness is not how great you shine but how great you make others shine. I have a lot of supporters in my dog rescue too that are content with chipping in with no glory and letting me take the credit. That is why I feel uncomfortable with too much adulation when it comes to the dogs because I know I do not do it alone. Ok I am through preaching. Praise God-He makes us all look good.
