Yesterday I was in Sams Club and met John who was giving out bagel - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I was in Sams Club and met John who was giving out bagel samples. I made the comment about nothing here comes close to a N.Y. bagel. John smiled and started taking. I soon realized John was not from around these parts in the ATL...Our conversation moved to talking about todays somber anniversary. John was there. He was a manager of the Marriott Hotel and his wife worked for Canton Fitzgerald. John told me of the horror, the sights, the smells of that day. His wife was late for work that morning and was afraid of repercussions...she is alive today because she was not there...I was on a time schedule but I stayed and talked with John sharing his stories. Being from NY this was near and dear to my heart. I along with all of you watched the horror unfold minute by minute in just disbelief. We were glued to the television for days...Today as we remember this tragedy of this day, stop to remember our true heros...its not the athletes and actors and actresses. .. its the TRUE Heros, the first responders, police, firefighters, the men and woman of the military..its the Americans who lost their lives in the towers, on those planes, the Pentagon and in a field...its the everyday person like John whose life would be changed forever. Instead of glorifying the rich and famous stop and honor and respect the true heros... the ones who sacrifice everyday their lives to protect our freedoms..My lIfe was touched talking with John yesterday with tears in his eyes and grief in his heart still after 13 years....God Bless you John..God Bless this great country of ours...and NEVER FORGET. .....
