Yesterday I was in the hood in San Bernardino for 7 hours. I was sitting back observing everything. It amazed me how content some of these people were & how they lived. I was having a conversation with some dudes & they kept calling me boogie. I told them Im not boogie, nor do I think Im better than you. I come from the hood & the only thing I did was get a education & changed my mindset. Thats the only thing different from you & me. I came across this young man that was 22 years old, & while we were conversing he says I want to get tattoos on my face. I told him dont do that & asked him if he ever thought about his future. He says no, I have felonies & no one will ever give me a job. I told him dont never let that hold you back & Never let your circumstances dictate your future. This young man was standing up like he was hard & as I continue to talk to him, he sat down right beside me & I felt that God put in my spirit to minister to this young man. He was telling me he has been locked up since he was 15 years old & has been out for a year. I asked him what is your passion, what do you like to do & do you dream? He thought about it & stated he likes cutting hair, & making people laugh. So I said how about barber school & a comedy class? He said no one has ever asked me about my passion & dreams & I have never thought about it. He said my dreams are nightmares. I told him YOURE moving to fast & doing the wrong things. Have you ever heard the saying be still? After talking to this young man for a hour, I told him to go to the library & wrote down some books for him to read. I told him Im not here by accident God sent me here. Come to find out hes from Pasadena, the same city I was born & raised. If anyone out there is willing to mentor this young man, I will make it happen. God started it, I cant mentor him how to become a man. It takes a village & we have all let our youth down. Its our responsibilities to change this cycle. If interested please inbox me.
