Yesterday I was invited by Father Lancy Lobo to the Center for Culture & Development, Vadodara for participating in the seminar - Religion, Secularism and the Shifting goalposts of Democracy in India. My topic was - Gandhian Secularsim : A fall-out of Vedantic Spirituality?I said that Gandhiji was very much influenced by the life and teachings of Shri Ramkrishna who practised various religions by turn and proved that all religions are various paths leading to the same goal , the ultimate Supreme Truth variously called as God ,Allah, Brhaman etc, Gandhiji used to hae prayers of different religions in his prayer meetings, he practised true secularism, not pseudo secularism, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Shri H. R. Khanna rightly pointed out that by being a sincere Hindu, or Muslim or Christian one does not cease to be secular, in our education system instead of providing education of sarvadharma samabhav, we removed religion and spirituality from the education system, hence we are paying the price by producing excellent Engineers, doctors, IAS officers etc, who can do excellent corruption.
