Yesterday, I was thankful for muses. I have a lot of muses without whom I wouldnt be able to write at all. I posted a while back that I dont have original ideas, and that is true. Every idea I have is based off of something else. Something that I see, hear, feel, or experience: there are a lot of things that inspire me to write. Comics, cartoons, television, and films... all of those were the first sources of inspiration in my life. Famous people have most often been my muses. Alan Alda and Richard Thomas were my first muses (or really, their characters on television). They were the reasons I wanted to be a writer in the first place. When I was a teenager, my whole writing style and outlook on writing changed thanks to the movie, The Doors, which lead to an obsession with Jim Morrison and his poetry in Wilderness. Then, a few years later, Neil Gaiman changed everything about me. Into my college years, David Duchovny was my muse for a long time. I even have some people on my friends list here that I reached out to because unbeknownst to them, they were muses of mine, and they were nice enough to let me into their lives just a little bit: Josh Daugherty and Doug Jones are two of them. I owe some of my best work to these guys.
