Yesterday I went to TSC looking for a warming blanket for poor old Patrick. At about 25 years old he has gotten a bit thin and fragile looking. The only blankets they had were over $100 and were not in his size. Today I went digging through the stash of blanket fabric I used to use over the windows. I found two lengths of very warm polar fleece that seemed about right. I took a length of paracord, the fabric and some scissors out to the pasture. Patrick seemed irritated at first that I had not brought food and as he had not had anything on his back in years he was reluctant to stand still. I tossed the blanket over him and when he noticed that he was being protected from the cutting wind he became more willing to wait for me to cut holes and make laces with the cord. He seemed very pleased with the whole thing when I was done and I hope it stays on tonight.
