Yesterday, I witnessed the impact that Kim Oglesby Brazelton had - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, I witnessed the impact that Kim Oglesby Brazelton had on the lives of others. I was deeply touched, and it reminded me that so many people never know whose lives they have touched and in what way. It made me think about all of the teachers I work with and know who do touch the lives of young people EVERY day. Yet, they will never see that young person standing at their memorial service ... yes, standing because there was standing room only... like the guy I saw yesterday standing and shedding uncontrollable tears because Kim made such an impact upon his life. The impact she made was because ... as I heard over and over again.... when she loved someone, she loved and accepted them for who they were not who she wanted them to be. They said she would certainly tell them when they were wrong or making a mistake, but there was no doubt she loved them anyway. May we hold others accountable for their actions, but may we also love and forgive just as we have been forgiven. May we strive every day to make a difference in the lives of others because we never know when someone needs a smile, a hug, a friend, or good firm advice wrapped up with love. Just as Kim helped others, I thank her sister for the love and support she has shown toward me. - with Hope Oglesby Gentry
