Yesterday I wrote, “Without my children, my house would be clean and my wallet would be full…but my hearts would be empty”. Today I would like to add… Without my children, I would have a clean sofa, not filled with a “mountain” of unfolded clothes. Without my children, I would have more control of my History and TLC channels, not succumbed to Disney Channels. Without my children, I would have travel with one sweet and nice luggage, not a handful of luggage and backpacks. Without my children, I would have a more prim and prom look strolling outside, not with fast heartbeats, rolled sleeves and thin-soled shoes. Without my children, I would have more time using my mobile phone, not having to justify why I had to use it for a longer time than usual. Without my children, I would have more space on the bed, not having to squeeze myself and shoved one’s leg on my face in the middle of the night. BUT… Without my children, I wouldn’t be able to experience the pain of childbirth such that I treasure & respect my mother and the other elderly I know even more. Without my children, I wouldn’t be able to memorize children’s medication by hard. Paracetamol for fever. Brufen when the fever gets too high. Chlormine for running nose. Bromhexine for phlegm. Iliadin nose drop for blocked nose. You name it! Without my children, I wouldn’t be able to multi-task. Carry their bags while pressing the lift and holding their hands (plus the car key) and teaching them numeracy with the numbers on the lift panel. At the same time, reprimanding the other one for touching the dirty walls in the lift. Without my children, I wouldn’t be able to wake up in the middle of the night and am still fully functioning the following day. Amazing! Without my children, I wouldn’t know the tears and joy in raising a child. Without my children, I am NOT who I am. While we try our best to mould and nurture our children, little did we realized, we are moulded and nurtured into another human being with a sensitive heart, hard knock soul, Incredible Hulk body and an iron cast mind to brave the biggest challenges and strongest ‘tsunami’ of life. Today, let’s look at our children and say Thank You! Happy Children’s Day.. Again! Coz you deserve it! :)
