Yesterday, Judge Andrew Napolitano joined TPNN’s Tim Constantine on The Capitol Hill Show (Listen below). The Judge spoke on a wide range of topics ranging from ObamaCare, immigration, and drug laws. However, the most powerful part of this interview was when he addressed the problem of government overreach and an executive branch that has grown too powerful. While the Judge stated that all modern presidents have overstepped their ‘oath faithfully to uphold the law’, Barack Obama has taken this violation to an entirely different level, deciding willy-nilly what parts of the law to apply and to whom. He went further by stating that under Barack Obama, the Executive Branch has far too much power and the system of checks and balances set into place by our Founders with 3 equal branches of government is disrupted. The president is far too powerful. The executive is far too powerful in our system. Remember, the 3 systems are supposed to be equal. If you don’t mind segueing for a moment, and I know our time is limited, into the NSA spying; think about this. The NSA and the Executive Branch have been engaged in spying so massive that it’s breathtaking. Right now, we know that they have at their fingertips every phone call, every text, every email, every utility bill, every banking statement, every credit card bill of every American in the United States of America since early 2011. The courts that have authorized this have been sworn to secrecy. The members of Congress who knew about it, only 8 of them, have been sworn to secrecy. To the point where the courts themselves and the members of Congress themselves are afraid to discuss this openly for fear that they could be prosecuted. Loading...
