Yesterday, Lomakatsi and partners took a tour at the Table Rocks in Medford, Oregon to look at areas planned for oak habitat restoration. Over the past two years, Lomakatsi has been working in partnership with federal agencies and non-profit organizations including the BLM, US Fish and Wildlife Service, The Nature Conservancy, Klamath Bird Observatory, and NRCS to develop plans for fuels reduction and oak woodland restoration treatments. Supported through federal and private foundation funding, 200 acres have been identified for the initial phase of work scheduled to being this winter. We are excited to put this collaborative oak habitat restoration effort on the ground, continuing to protect and promote one of the most biologically diverse habitats of our region.
