Yesterday, Mike and I drove to Boise to reconsider moving there. We didnt feel it when we got there. However, on the way, I was playing with the radio and settled on a classic country station. The song, D-I-V-O-R-C-E came on and I said I thought it was Tammy Whynette singing. If you hear her voice, it sounds like her name. All twangy and whiny. So, I sang along, playing with her twang and repeating her name. I dont think Ive encountered anything Tammy Whynette in the last decade. A couple of hours later, I get an email from my very intuitive friend, Vicki. She sends me a You Tube video of George Jones and Tammy Whynette singing, My Elusive Dreams. Its a song about the two of them following each other around the US to different cities, hoping to find their ideal home, but never settling on one. Vicki said it reminded her of Mike and me. I told her about my Tammy morning in the car and how funny and random it was. She said that Tammys cousin lives across the street from her and we giggled about the connections.
