Yesterday, My business partner and Myself has an opportunity to visit a long term residence for homeless vets. I have to admit that I experienced a number of emotions. The facility was fantastic and the people running it were very professional and helpful. The case manager Ed Reid is a brother veteran and impressed me with his caring, compassion and professionalism. We also had the opportunity to speak with 10 of the veterans living in this facility. 6 of them are brother Vietnam Veterans and my mind drifted back to so many years ago when we were boys becoming men and serving so very far away from home. I felt the bond that we have and how brothers can get along and care for and love each other through all of these years. During my conversation with them, I have to admit that I had a lump in my throat and felt very emotional. There but for the grace of God go I. I didnt want to leave there and believe that I owe these brothers of mine and need to repay them in every way I can. I am going to return there again soon, They are my brothers and I cannot leave them behind. Its a part of our bond and brotherhood. They would do the same for me. These brave and heroic men have given much of themselves to our Country and I sure as hell will not forget that. These men are still in my mind and I am honored to know them. If you every get the opportunity to visit a home such as this, go and meet men like these. Respect and honor them., They have more than paid the price. God Bless and protect them all and God Bless America..
