Yesterday, My business partner and Myself has an opportunity to visit a long term residence for homeless vets. I have to admit that I experienced a number of emotions. The facility was fantastic and the people running it were very professional and helpful. The case manager Ed Reid is a brother veteran and impressed me with his caring, compassion and professionalism. We also had the opportunity to speak with 10 of the veterans living in this facility. 6 of them are brother Vietnam Veterans and my mind drifted back to so many years ago when we were boys becoming men and serving so very far away from home. I felt the bond that we have and how brothers can get along and care for and love each other through all of these years. During my conversation with them, I have to admit that I had a lump in my throat and felt very emotional. There but for the grace of God go I. I didnt want to leave there and believe that I owe these brothers of mine and need to repay them in every way I can. I am going to return there again soon, They are my brothers and I cannot leave them behind. Its a part of our bond and brotherhood. They would do the same for me. These brave and heroic men have given much of themselves to our Country and I sure as hell will not forget that. These men are still in my mind and I am honored to know them. If you every get the opportunity to visit a home such as this, go and meet men like these. Respect and honor them., They have more than paid the price.
