Sweden is the 10th fastest growing source of investors in the US economy. If the Ttip agreement(regeringen.se/sb/d/18087) comes through there is great potential for economic growth and especially for SMEs who want take their business to the U.S. Steve Westly from the Westly group(westlygroup/) had an exciting talk about clean tech and the pursuit of sustainable growth in silicon valley and Peggy Wallace, managing partner of GoldenSeeds(goldenseeds/) talked about the latest trends: Cognitive Computing, wearables and fashion tech, Voice activation and translation, bandwidth and sustainability and the modernisation of content. Clare Fairfield Chairman of Venture Capital Institute says that the secret to building a successful company: “It’s all about the people connections” - Business and Life happens at the same time. We are entering an era of global entrepreneurship, the most important challenge for start ups is global experience. Start-ups must think about the landing and not only focus on the launch. The conclusion about being an entrepreneur from todays discussion are the following: Know the right people, get networked! Be prepared to prove your business to the VC: How do VCs make money from your idea? What is the competition? How much money do you need? Never make up an answer!! - Solve a problem! It should be real and big. If you don’t have a customer you don’t have a business Think big!
