Yesterday The New York Times featured an article on Joseph Smith, the founding prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The focus was his nuanced family life, interesting to those unfamiliar, but I have known all of this for years. Back in early September of 1984 The Lord gave me a deep and ardent conviction that Joseph Smith was His first modern prophet (Brigham Young was His second). Daily this is brought to greater conviction, and what The Lord revealed through this servant of His has changed my life. Since learning this and what the flood of revelations along with their holy predecessor The Bible have taught me is that God lives, and I pray to The Father daily, and only to Him, in His Sons Name. What did Joseph Smith reveal? That God is our Father and Jesus Christ is His Son, our Savior. And God loves is all, and Has a mission an role for each of us now, and it involves helping each other as the brothers and sisters that we are. And I admire Joseph Smith more daily, and I love Jesus, and I long for My Father in Heaven.
