Yesterday a public meeting was held to discuss concept plans for the Morristowns Farmers Market. Plans are underway for a permanent structure on site to enhance the marketplace. The Morristown Farmers Market has been an integral part of downtown Morristown since 1979. It is one of the oldest, continuously-operating, six-days a week Farmer’s Markets in East Tennessee. The purpose of this project is to make the marketplace a more appealing and accessible public space, to have a permanent home from which the market can operate, and to provide a shelter that will be of benefit to the farmers and customers. Restrooms and onsite utilities are part of the concept.
