Yesterday afternoon I was driving to my home via Hanumanghat, Bhaktapur, I saw two boys pointing their catapult upwards. Immediately I remembered that the boys are hunting cattle egrets. I pulled down my bike and asked what they were doing. They showed reluctance to answer me. I showed my stern face. They replied, they were trying to derive medicine by killing egrets. I checked their bags, they had already killed two cattle egrets and was about to kill some more. In anger I siezed the catapults and the bag and threw in the river. I threatened them not to kill any bird again or else would take them to jail. I also told them the importance of species, rules related to hunting and poaching species etc. They begged sorry. They promised they wouldnt hunt again.This was merely an incident of hundreds of thousands incidents going on inside and outside the country. I was however happy that I could somehow do my duty.
