Yesterday as I drove home from work I saw a huge Confederate Flag flying proudly on I-95 as I approached rte 17, it waived in the wind like the American Flag for all to see, for all to honor, for all to acknowledge. With that being said I understand freedom of speech and the right to display your beliefs openly, however as I drove down I-95 my mind thought of the struggles we face as a people today and imagined what the struggle felt like when flying such a flag was a right of passage for so many who feel the way they do. With all that I mentioned its important to note that the principality of segregation, and separation is alive and well, this flag that is flying is not for us to get upset but it serves as a reminder that we as a people have a long way to go and we cant stop doing the basics which is praying, reading ye word of God, fasting and speaking up for what is right not in our minds, but what is right in the eyes and heart of God.
