Yesterday at 12.14 p.m. SPRS received a report of a 35 Catamaran with 7 people on board drifting near Port Phillip Heads with a broken mast. SP1 was activated and by the time our crew and Water Police arrived on scene the yacht had been pushed out through the Heads. Conditions on the Bay and outside the Heads were atrocious. SP1 took the vessel in tow and after battling the heavy seas for around 3 hours safely delivered the yacht and its seven occupants to its mooring at Camerons Bight. Once again this was a fantastic effort by our Skipper and crew in very difficult circumstances - great job everyone.
