Yesterday at Oklahoma University (Norman, Oklahoma) after preaching I sat down and a group of students gathered around me. They asked me why the focus of my preaching was so negative. The student who asked seemed sincere to me. It seemed the Lord gave me a very good illustration on the spot that I am going to share: I likened their foundational belief system to a building. I told them if I need to build a building in a certain spot where another building is already sitting that is the exact opposite from foundation up of the building I must build then it must be torn down. Before I am able to begin building the new building I must tear the old building down. BRING OUT THE HAMMER OF THE WORD OF GOD (Jeremiah 23:29). We begin by tearing down the structure which is the outward manifestation of the prevalent sins being committed on the campus and work our way down to the foundation which all these sins are coming from and that is the heart (Mark 7:21-23).
