Yesterday at around 7pm Matthew and I experienced what can only be described as a catastrophic apartment failure. We spent seven hours bailing out water from our kitchen due to a burst pipe in the apartment above us - the pipe didnt freeze or anything, it was just time for it to go, apparently. We were unable to shut off the water, so we just fought to contain the flooding until the city came at 2:00 to basically tell us that there was nothing they could do without basically destroying the walls. Thank you to Eric, Jeff Verive, and Lisa Mazzoni Verive for coming as quickly as possible and helping us through this. Luckily, most of our belongings were untouched. Were currently in the process of bringing everything we can home, since were pretty certain that sooner or later the ceiling is going to give way. So if I seem out of it or irritable over the next couple weeks, please bear with me - it looks like were commuting until further notice!
