Yesterday at midnight as I entered my Rongai home, thugs numbering - TopicsExpress

Yesterday at midnight as I entered my Rongai home, thugs numbering around 5 robbed me at gunpoint as I parked my car in the garage. It was such a harrowing experience but thank God, they didnt harm me or my family. I was late from a church fundraiser in my home village. They relieved me of valuables, documents and personal effects. The commotion roused neighbors so they didnt have much time to sack the house. Rongai police arrived after 30 minutes. Hoping they will be able to track the thieves using my phone which was still on long after they had stolen it. It could have been worse but I thank God for sparing our lives and those of my loved ones who were in the house at the moment. I am in one piece, save the trauma which will go anyways after a few days. The worst thing is to be insecure where you should be most safe- at home. It was a blood-cuddling experience. Aint fun to be at the mercy of strangers, robbers at that- who could decide to end your life at the slightest of provocation. Hope this does not happen to anybody again, anywhere. It is sad that it may. It is unfortunate that this thing happen again and again. Hope one day, in our lifetime, insecurity will cease to be a way of life in Kenya. Thanks all for the messages of concern and encouragement. Good day.
