Yesterday at our adoption/pack walk event, we attracted a homeless couple. They were very respectful and kind hearted. I invited them to join us and have something to eat. They seemed pretty hungry (whoofing the hot dogs down) and we had plenty of food. We had the chance to conversate and it was very humbling for me as they proceeded to tell me where they live. Every night they climb up a ladder onto a roof top where they sleep at night, and they went on to tell me that they have plenty blankets, and are able to watch the stars at night and how beautiful it is. I felt very honored to be feeding this couple that seemed so grateful for what they have. After they ate, they even offered to help us load up all our stuff. I let them make up some more food, burgers and hot dogs, bags of popcorn and candy, for them to take with them. Its a tough world out there and many people are ending up on the streets because of this economy. All i wish for today on my birthday, is that everyone be very thankful for what they have and dont complain about the little things in life. Be kind to everyone, rich or poor, black or white, homeless or not, we are all human and we eat, breathe, & love the same
