Yesterday at the center, more than 170 people received services of some kind! We saw everything from ministry in the woods, to provision of food (3-day supply of meals, according to state guidelines) to breakfast and/or lunch on site, to help with utilities or rent, to emergency shelter provision for three homeless families with children. There were many opportunities to pray with our guests and clients. We want the ministry of compassion to be a beacon that shines the way to the foot of the Cross. Code Blue is just such a place. Thus far we have served 25 unduplicated guests this winter, and weve been open and running in First Baptist Church for TWENTY-EIGHT NIGHTS. Through Code Blue, we have been able to connect a couple of homeless veterans with assistance. Queries have been made regarding treatment programs for some other guests (please pray for open doors and willing hearts!). We have been able to have some Bible study and prayer with guests, and praise God, we see the Word taking root. Its a long, slow process for some people, but we are trusting almighty heavenly Father for eternal fruit. Your prayer support is so vital, along with your gifts of time and substance.
