Yesterday at the movie theater I saw now you see me. I still think - TopicsExpress

Yesterday at the movie theater I saw now you see me. I still think it’s been a weak year for movies especially compared to last year where there was a wide release to get excited about for the whole year. I have seen 10 movies in the theater and I would just recommend the last stand, warm bodies, pain and gain, Iron man 3 and Star trek into darkness. Also this year two movies a good day to die hard and star trek into darkness made me mad that the major studios, Hollywood and screenwriters have been creatively sucking the blood out of preexisting properties the last 12 years to now even more so in my opinion than movies based on preexisting properties made before the new millennium. Watching the most recent die hard movies theatrical cut it took I think the last thing the franchise could do team John up with his son and did nothing much with it creatively. Star trek used by far the best villain the series ever had for a third time and fails to make the villain better or do anything interesting, creative or different from it. Thanks to that unless a movie is a genre or property I am a fan of such as Star trek, Star Wars, etc I might try harder to avoid seeing any prequels, sequels, etc in the theater. I enjoyed now you see me and would describe it as perfectly adequate entertainment. Since now you see me is not bad but is nothing amazing or groundbreaking. I would also recommend seeing the prestige first and then now you see me. I liked the heists, magic tricks, action and the movie visually. I liked that the movie travels taking place in New York, Vegas, New Orleans and Paris. I am a fan of one of the director’s other movies the incredible hulk which this one has a connection to and thought the director helped make the movie fun and entertaining. The movie has a good cast which includes Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo (who after seeing Avenger’s I wished he was Bruce Banner but something the plot does support it if he was Bruce in the movie under an alias), Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Common. On the downside I thought the final 20 minutes or so, plot twists and revelations didn’t completely work, wasn’t super satisfying and was somewhat to vague. Another thing I didn’t like about the movie is nearly all the characters are somewhat cocky, arrogant and somewhat not so likable. Also Caine’s character is actually absent in the final part of the movie. Overall the movie is fun, entertaining and like a magic trick but one where the actual trick is mostly just an illusion and not a lot else to it. Also the prestige is cinema in comparison to now you see me which is more of a popcorn movie.
