Yesterday during the pouring rain I was driving on a local road -- one that goes through a cemetery -- and saw a beautiful gray & white Shih Tzu dog soaked through and through walking real fast on the street but in a left-to-right pattern, and people were actually stopping their cars rather than running the poor dog over! I opened my car door and was about to get out to bring the soaking wet dog into my car but it zig zagged away from me and into oncoming traffic, yet everyone still stopped their cars! Since this dog wouldnt get into anyones car, I called 9-1-1 twice from my cell phone but couldnt get through; most likely b/c of the lightening and thunder. I dont know what did happen to the poor Shih Tzu but I thought of our beloved Nikko and said to myself Hopefully someone finally did either take it into their car to bring it to a shelter or did call the police to help the poor baby as I was about to do, and as I would want others to do for my Nikko.... In actuality I dont know what did happen to the gray & white Shih Tzu because horns started blowing so I had to continue on because there was nowhere to stop and try to coax the dog into my car. But I know now without a shadow of a doubt that there is HOPE FOR HUMANITY-- it truly warmed my heart to see every single car STOP for that dog and that they were trying to help it get in their cars and out of the ferocious rain.
