Yesterday five men and women from FBNO went to the volunteer - TopicsExpress

Yesterday five men and women from FBNO went to the volunteer training at Orleans Parish Prison. Sheriff Gusman told us that the new facility will have something called direct supervision -- the guards will be right in the room with the offenders -- not isolated behind plexiglass. Then the guest speaker, Kathy Radke, shared that she used to see the guards as a hindrance to the work she was doing with the prisoners -- until after Katrina, when all of the prisoners were gone, and only the guards were left to hear the gospel. It started a whole new area of ministry for her! I couldnt help but think about the prison guards who were chained to the Apostle Paul -- and how the gospel made its way throughout the Praetorian Guard because of his chains. I see many law enforcement personnel coming to know Jesus through direct supervision, because Jesus People go into the prisons to share their Savior with those who are in chains!
