Yesterday: got our bearings and found the breakfast place our host recommended, took an hour long bus tour of the city, stopping at the Citadel on the Buda side of the Danube, had hot spiced wine and lunch from a great lunch cart on the Pest side, found the train office and inquired about tickets to Zagreb, visited St Iftvans Basilica where we saw the 1,000 year old hand of King St. Stephen, home for some R&R, caught at 6:30 boat for a night tour (gorgeous), then found a restaurant Brenda Abrahamson recommended, Trattoria Toscana, for some excellent Italian food (me, gnocchi). Today: find the best thermal bath in town, walk to the Buda side of the river, find the cat bar I read about and hunt down good goulash! Heard from Hen and Kate. They arrived in Berlin just as 8,000 balloons were released from part of the Berlin Wall site. 11/09/14 was the 25th anniversary of the Wall coming down. I bet that was spectacular! I got to chat with Elizabeth via FB while we were resting up yesterday. Thrilled, happy and excited that she and Bill are coming to Joseph for Christmas!!! Happy Veterans Day out there to all the vets, including my hubby!
