Yesterday in the middle of our snow storm I got a phone call from my neighbor, she had fallen outside and broke her ankle. We went to help but she was afraid to move, so just got her covered and waited for the ambulance. Her yard is like an obstacle course and challenging in good conditions, but covered in snow it was a danger zone. I didnt get a few feet in her yard before I slipped and fell on a snow covered board. Luckily I didnt get hurt I dusted myself off and went to find her sitting on the cold cement. By the time we got out of there I complained that my feet were frozen, Leland said do you have socks on? I said yes he says then I dont want to hear it. He had put his shoes on in a hurry, no socks. I wasnt going out without being prepared for the cold not knowing how long wed have to be out in it. Shes in the hospital waiting for surgery on her ankle, we dont know how long she will be there. She will need to be brought home again and Im not wanting to go out in these conditions. I hope the roads clear up but were expecting more bad weather. There comes a time in a persons life when living in the country and on your own without family to care for you isnt a good idea. I just wish I could convince them of that. I left her alone with Leland and he gave her a good talking to, but she pretty much ignores him. Ha! Ha! Well help her all we can but we pretty much stink at care giving. Lol
