Yesterday it was my first visit to Mayapur, the headquarters of the International society for Krishna consciousness. They say, that ISKCON is a spiritual society, which is directly based on Veda, Geeta and the Vaishnav tradition. They teach people to live their lives in a better way depending on the four regulative principles- mercy, self control, truthfulness and cleanliness of body & mind. They are the followers of lord Krishna and believes only in spirituality. Wow!! spiritual!! Isnt it? But dear ISKCON bhaktas, a few questions are actually disturbing me after visiting Mayapur. why the gurus of your society need gold palaces to live?? Why your society needs to use gold extensively in their temples?? It clearly shows that how much money(read dollers) is floating around Mayapur area. Why?? Why do you need to waste that amount of money to run a spiritual society?? I have not seen any poor people having a free lunch in Mayapur. I know about your food for life campaign. But we were unable to find any poor people taking a free lunch!! I know you help poor sometimes, but could not you serve much more people instead of building temples with gold??you could even arrange a facility to accommodate homeless people. Why would not you do that? I am really happy that I am an atheist. And a non-religious person. I would like to help the needy people rather than wasting my money in some religious bullshits. I will definitely support any atheist organisation helping poor. Because I will be sure that they wont waste my money building some useleas temples.
