Yesterday & last evening was a solemn night for the San Antonio music scene, as we said goodbye to the legendary White Rabbit venue. There are SO many memories for SO many people out there, but at the heart of it all (& even after his passing) RICK SCIARAFFA was the man whos spirit, good will & honesty kept the venue true to its roots & serving the SA scene. This morning I remember Rick with a grin on my face,....cause I know how hard he partied, how mad he could get through the daily shit-goings-on at the club,.....but most of all because he did it all for the right reasons despite not making much money on the back end. However, dont take my word for it - watch his words below - hell tell you! This interview from 2003 is quite interesting cause youll hear Rick speak about the splintering of the scene,....because for some fans at the time it was a changing of the guard (they were growing up),....& thus, were transitioning to different genres of music & because of that transition were also patronizing different venues. Rick had his finger on it all. I miss him,....& Ill miss the White Rabbit too. Plan to see some MORE classic live footage & interviews from the venue released in the New Year. ~ El Mero Metal
