Yesterday, long-time Urn Attendant Nick Tomazic and brand-new - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, long-time Urn Attendant Nick Tomazic and brand-new volunteer Bill Hurley spent several hours carefully scrubbing the Urn to prepare it to receive the prayers, messages, and remembrances of the dead from everyone in the streets for the Procession. All across town, hundreds of people are working to prepare for the Procession--setting up the Finale site, rehearsing music and dances and chants and stiltwalking, working on costumes, whitewashing wings for The Procession of Little Angels, creating shrines, and much much more. From photographer Kathleen Dreier: The minutiae that goes into creating All Souls needs to be seen and recognized. The invocation starts many months before the event itself. Every aspect of preparation is sacred. Photographs copyright Kathleen Dreier Photography.
