Yesterday marked the 70th anniversary of Auschwitz-Birkenaus liberation. A little over a decade ago, Israeli pilots conducted a flyover in remembrance of every Jew and Nazi political prisoner who perished. Hearing the static of a Hebrew pilots voice skyward over one of Judaisms darkest modern tragedies strikes me deep. What he says is true, and should not only serve to defy antisemitism, but a shield against all unnecessary hatred.
