Yesterday morning I stopped into a McDonalds in Decatur, Indiana. - TopicsExpress

Yesterday morning I stopped into a McDonalds in Decatur, Indiana. My breakfast cost $4.27. I gave the 20-ish year old cashier a $10 bill and then reached into my pocket for 30 cents, which instilled a look of Fear and Confusion onto the girls face. She had already entered 10 into the computer. She stood there dumbfounded for a moment and I said six bucks and three pennies. Although very reluctant to believe me, she gave me the change. I told her that I remember when they taught BASIC MATH in school. Her response: well, some of us have been out of school for a while. (yeah, you forget an awful lot after the first couple years in the Real World). I didnt say anything. She then went and got my McMuffin and Hash Brown, and paraded around the kitchen looking for a Manager. I could read her lips during the conference with the manager, talking about the six bucks and three pennies and my ten and thirty cents. Then she came back to the counter, still clutching my breakfast in her hand, to check her computer and my receipt sitting on the tray. She walked back into the kitchen (with my food) to talk to the manager again. Finally, she brought me my breakfast and said Have a nice day. I asked her Do you trust me now and are we good to go? ....and they still demand $15 per hour.
