Yesterday morning as I drove around Vinaigies buying water - TopicsExpress

Yesterday morning as I drove around Vinaigies buying water exchanging money and preparing to come to Lacoupe , the impact of what I was doing became real in fear started to set in. I was questioning why I was doing this, why I was willing to sleep outdoors in rural Haiti, why I was willing to go somewhere where people did not speak English and I spoke so little Creole. it was a long lonely drive up to Lacoupe. After I arrived I walked up on to the hill and sat under a tree and worked too quiet myself. it wasnt long before the villagers came to sit with me and I definitely was not alone. I have not been alone since. theres always someone present wanting to talk teaching me their language and wanting to learn mine. they bring food, the children come and play, theres always laughter, .they are always smiling. Most of these people own less than what I carry in my truck, yet they are happy beyond belief. it is clear to me why I am here. I have something to offer them but they had so much more that they give to me.
