Yesterday morning following an accident on Interstate 70 a dog got away from his owner ending up near the Operations Building around Decatur Blvd. and Hannah Ave. The dog is no worse for wear thanks to observant drivers and Brenda Catania, the Department Assistant Supervisor. Bus drivers noticed the dog early in the morning. Brenda walked outside and saw the dog roaming in the distance in the wooded area across Decatur Blvd before disappearing into the woods. Later in the morning the owner came looking for the dog and stopped at Operations where he spoke to Brenda and she was able to share the last location where the dog was seen. She also gave the owner her contact information. Around school dismissal time, other drivers noticed the dog owners searching and ultimately finding the missing pet! Never underestimate the power of 53 bus drivers, 106 eyes, and 53 radios! GO Decatur!
