Yesterday, my 73 year-old uncle, sent me this. I thought I would share this as I know it meant a lot for him to write it! I was very introverted as a kid in high school and when we graduated I was at the stairs of the gym and asked myself what am I going to do with my life. I just started crying because I had no future. In high school I played baseball and football as far as I was concerned that was all I new. Not one time did I think that I had a future, but as I went out and worked. I always said to my self learn more of your job and other jobs around you. Sure enough with out a degree I published a paper and gave a presentation in Texas. I became membership chairman of the National Association of Scientific Manager. I published the membership in a booklet. The book contained all the major university and corporations in the US and Canada and Mexico. I had corporate help me in computerizing the storeroom and purchasing. I was one of the first to utilize DOE which stands for direct order entry, which I could order by computer for all the material I needed to keep the research running. Also I should have mentioned this while I was still some what introverted, so when people get down about themselves I always remember one thing. That is I was not the smartest kid on the block, but having all these great people around me, it made me feel like Einstein.
