Yesterday, my daughter Madhumitha gave a bad performance in Super - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, my daughter Madhumitha gave a bad performance in Super Singer; she knew she would be in danger zone and was very upset; I was trying to calm her down and to take anything easy. This man, Srinivas, Senior Super singer came calmly; sat beside her and talked in a calm tone: “ See, I have seen some of your performances; you are very good; you have established yourself as a talented singer in the minds of judges; that would not fade off in just one or two performances; so don’t be upset too much; these setbacks have happened to all of us. Remember that you have to do everything that is required to give a quality performance- YOU have to do it for your sake; nobody can help you there..” Having said this, he went off as calmly as he came. Madhu got herself back and with a better frame of mind went back in to the studio. Srinivas got eliminated bit early in the Super Singer competition last season, but is doing extremely well as a budding playback singer in the industry (nominated for Filmfare award this year for his excellent song in Malayalam). I thought: Why do we always advice our children to be competitive and aggressive so as to win in this world? We should rather advise them to be matured, think clearly, act and take the outcome of their action impassively. We cannot predict what tomorrow has for us. Thank you Srinivasan Raghunathan...
