Yesterday my daughter Sanaa passed out due to dehydration. We were at my sons football game and it was extremely hot and humid. As we waited for her dad to bring us something to drink the attendants yelled out we ran out of water and fries. Although she has never had a soda he brought her one to cool her down. About 10 minutes later she fainted. One can of soda contains 40grams (10 packs of sugar ). Soda is definitely a poor hydration source but we thought it would better than nothing at all. Although she drinks plenty of fluids (juice and milk ) it isnt water. I am at fault because I dont stress the importance of water. It was such a scary incident but I thank God for it happening so that I can keep my children aware and also others.
