Yesterday my husband and I both had to show up to be screened for jury duty. (We are often summoned at the same time, often called, and happy to do our part when we are selected) However we now tend to a grandchild with some serious health and other issues so my husband went forward ask if one of us could be released or called at a different time so he would not be left alone. We found out at that time that Texas does not make allowances for the many grandparents who are now in the position of watching their grandchildren for whatever reason. Thinking the state needs to take a look at this. We are vital to the well-being of this young person as I am sure that many grandparents are and we need the state to work with us.
