Yesterday my lifelong friend Patrick (mentor and uncle figure in my life) came to visit me and do a belated Labor Day luncheon. Pat brought his old dog Rocky. A very mellowed out labra doodle. In over ten years Ive never heard Rocky bark. His exact age is unknown from the dog pound he was adopted from. Since the grill for my building was out of order, again, we had to cook inside. Inside are my two kitties and outside was too hot to put the Rocky in the car so Pat put out a bowl of water, a long chain, and Rocky, under the shadiest tree nearest to my first floor apartment windows. Well we got distracted while eating our Hebrew Notional hot dogs, and all the fixings, and Rocky went missing, bowl, chain and all. Ends up Rocky was taken to the complex office and clubhouse. One of the managers came around from the other side of my building, and took Rocky and his belongings. Out of the four managers on duty three of the guys were playing with Rocky, feeding him all the treats from the lobbys dog biscuit cookie jar. Having fun with the good doggie. One new female manager (aged twenty something going on sour ball) decided to be a turd in the punch bowl. She called the towns animal control officer while the male managers (who like me and my PCAs) were playing with Rocky and calling my apartment to nicely inquire if Rocky was my visitor. So Patrick, my PCA, and I all went to the office. Apologies were made. The male managers ran interference from miss bossy boots manager, lecturing me as if Id been called to the principals office. The town dog officer came by, laughed, quickly left. Relieved to not have to take Rocky to doggie detention. Rocky took it all in stride. He had to spend a few minutes in Pats mini van (parked in the shade, windows open) while we had desert. Then Pat packed his picnic items, we called it a day as Pat drove away for Rocky and his evening run at Blue Hills park. https://youtube/watch?v=xXMSOpyAoxI
