Yesterday my news feed was populated by people reposting some spam facebook guideline policy. Today its populated by people complaining about the above and decreeing that by some bolt of wisdom, its fake. Now this has happened many multiple times under different guises so why are people suddenly wising up? Perhaps they are not and simply just regurgitating the trending diatribe. We live in a world where half the population believe in some form of religion which is arbitrarily assigned to them based on a combination of where they were born and what their parents, parents, parents believed in. If theyre born in Rome they are likely to be Catholic, Thailand - Buddhist, Israel - Jewish, Pakistan - Muslim, Utah - Morman, India - Hindu etc. Just think of the above and consider how retarded it is. People will die for their religion, believing its the one true belief. And its not just religion (albeit believing in a wine swilling flying super zombie that created the earth 6000 years ago is perhaps one of the most insane thought processes you can have), there are any number of mad things people will believe just because thats whats they are told or because they are written down e.g. The economy (its just numbers on a screen that requires a belief system for it to exist) or Gravity (possibly the biggest scientific anomaly accepted as fact). What Im hoping people will do, is start thinking and query the validity of the information they absorb. Question everything. EVERYTHING. Learn. Expand your knowledge. Read. Read the arguments. Read the counter-arguments. Start learning about the world and passing your knowledge on. Only then can we thrust the human race, beyond the mental colostomy bag that it currently inhibits and see the glories that occur after some en masse free-thinking. Cast away the shackles surrounding your mind and let it expand!
